Watercolour Papers
The premium standard for artists and galleries requiring authentic texture and lasting value.
At BLITZ, we specialize in high-fidelity Giclée printing for those who demand more than just a reproduction. We treat every project as a unique work of art, ensuring the tactile feel of the original is preserved on the finest museum-grade papers. By combining advanced 12-color pigment technology with world-renowned archival substrates, we produce gallery-ready prints that meet the highest standards of permanence and aesthetic quality across Canada.
The Professional Workflow
- Precision Color Management
Fine art substrates require specialized handling. We use custom ICC profiles calibrated specifically for high-absorbency media. This ensures your colors remain accurate and shadow details stay crisp, preventing the "bleeding" often seen in standard printing and maintaining professional-grade consistency. - 12-Channel Archival Pigment Inks
We utilize a 12-color aqueous pigment system designed for an ultra-wide color gamut. This technology captures the subtle washes of watercolours and the complex layering of original artwork with incredible accuracy. Our inks are lightfast and archival, ensuring your work resists fading for over a century. - Curated Selection & Expert Finishing
We exclusively source papers from industry leaders like Hahnemühle and Canson Infinity. All our fine art media are Acid-free and pH-neutral, preventing yellowing over time. Each print is allowed a necessary stabilization period before being meticulously hand-trimmed to your exact dimensions.
Substrate Selection: Premium Textures
- Canson® Infinity Edition Etching Rag (310gsm): A 100% cotton Fine Art paper with a smooth texture, reminiscent of the original genuine etching and printmaking papers. It has one of the highest achievable D-Max on the market, making it ideal for high-detail art and museum-grade photography.
- Watercolour Textured- Epson® Cold Press Bright (310gsm): An acid-free, 100% cotton rag media with a bright white finish. This paper features a soft-textured surface that replicates traditional cold-press watercolour paper, optimized for high contrast and vivid color reproduction.
- Watercolour Smooth- Epson® Hot Press Natural (310gsm): A premium 100% cotton rag paper with a smooth, matte surface and a warm, natural white tone (no optical brighteners). It is engineered for long-term archival stability and provides excellent tonal transitions for fine art photography and drawings.
- Epson® Somerset® Velvet (255gsm): A long-time favorite among artists, this paper offers a radiant white surface with a soft, velvet-like texture. It provides a unique tactile feel while maintaining the high-resolution detail required for sophisticated Giclée reproductions.
- Hahnemühle German Etching® (310gsm): A heavyweight, traditional copperplate paper with a distinct velvety surface. It adds a subtle three-dimensional depth to your art, making it the top choice for high-end illustrations.
