Felt Texture Business Cards

Felt Business Cards are printed on textured uncoated stock with a subtle tactile surface designed to remain visible through the finished print. The paper texture introduces physical variation across the sheet, giving typography, illustration and colour areas a distinctly material quality that cannot be replicated with smooth coated stock.

The textured surface modifies the way ink sits on and interacts with the paper. Fine detail remains reproducible, but continuous-tone images and large colour fields take on a softer, more paper-driven appearance. This makes Felt particularly appropriate for projects where the substrate is intended to participate visibly in the design rather than function as a neutral carrier.

Available in 14pt and 28pt thicknesses, the lighter stock provides a conventional card format with pronounced texture, while the heavier option adds rigidity and a stronger edge profile. Round corners are available on the 14pt configuration.

Because the surface has deliberate physical texture, extremely fine reverses, very small knockout type or artwork dependent on perfectly uniform solid coverage should be evaluated carefully during prepress.

Felt Paper Specifications

Surface: Premium uncoated stock with a subtle felt-textured surface that remains visible and tactile after printing.

Stock Construction: Available in 14pt and 28pt finished thicknesses. The 14pt stock provides a lighter professional card profile, while the 28pt construction offers greater rigidity, edge depth and a more substantial physical presence.

Paper Character: The felt texture introduces controlled surface irregularity across the sheet, giving the substrate a distinctive tactile and visual character. Unlike smooth uncoated or laminated stocks, the paper surface remains an active part of the finished design.

Print Characteristics: Ink interacts directly with the textured uncoated surface, producing softer tonal transitions and a more material-driven reproduction characteristic than coated media. Fine typography, illustration, line work and restrained graphic systems generally perform well, while continuous-tone imagery and large colour fields retain more visible influence from the underlying paper texture.

Surface Behaviour: The textured finish can introduce minor variation in the appearance of dense solids, fine reverses and highly uniform colour areas. Extremely small knockout type, very fine reversed lines and artwork dependent on perfectly even solid coverage should be evaluated carefully during prepress.

Colour Behaviour: Felt stock generally produces lower apparent saturation and softer contrast than coated or laminated papers. Dark colours may reproduce less intensely, while subtle tonal areas and neutral colours can be influenced by the texture and base tone of the stock. Colour-critical work should be evaluated using an appropriate physical proof where required.

Finishing: 0.25" diameter round corners are available on the 14pt configuration. The 28pt stock is supplied with square corners unless otherwise specified.

Prepress & Production Standards

Printing: Full-colour, double-sided production directly onto premium felt-textured uncoated stock from supplied press-ready artwork.

Artwork: Files should be prepared at final trim size with appropriate bleed, safe margins, embedded or outlined fonts and production-quality image resolution. Fine rules, small reversed type and critical edge-aligned elements should be prepared with normal commercial print tolerances in mind.

Colour: Artwork should be supplied using an appropriate CMYK workflow. RGB content, spot colours and brand-critical colours may require conversion or production review before output. Printed colour should not be expected to reproduce identically to the same artwork on smooth coated or laminated stock.

Image Reproduction: Continuous-tone imagery will retain more visible influence from the paper texture than on smooth media. Very fine photographic detail, dark shadow areas and large neutral fields should be evaluated carefully where tonal uniformity is critical.

Proofing: Digital PDF proofing is available for checking content, layout, trim position and general prepress accuracy. A PDF proof cannot reproduce the final paper texture, surface interaction, ink absorption or exact printed density of the finished piece.

Trim & Finishing: Cutting and corner finishing are subject to normal commercial production tolerances. Designs incorporating narrow borders or elements positioned close to the finished edge should allow sufficient safety margin for normal converting variation.

Production Time: Typically 4–5 business days after artwork and proof approval. Additional finishing, colour evaluation or production requirements may extend turnaround.
