About this product

Giclée Fine Art & Watercolour Prints use pigment-based ink on cotton rag and alpha-cellulose papers selected for texture, absorbency and tonal response. The paper surface becomes part of the image and should be chosen according to the character of the original work.

The range includes smooth hot-press papers, softly textured etching papers and more pronounced cold-press and watercolour surfaces. Texture can soften very fine detail while giving washes, drawings, printmaking and photographic work a more tactile presentation.

Suitable for reproductions of watercolour, drawing, illustration, printmaking and photography. Prints are produced to the selected dimensions and trimmed after output; full-bleed or bordered presentation follows the options selected when ordering.

Paper Selection Guide

Watercolour Smooth — Epson® Hot Press Natural (310gsm): A smooth, natural-white cotton paper with minimal tooth. It preserves fine lines and small detail while keeping the surface fully matte.

Watercolour Textured — Epson® Cold Press Bright (310gsm): A bright-white cotton paper with a visible cold-press texture. The surface adds physical character to paintings, illustrations and photographic reproductions.

Epson® Somerset Velvet (255gsm): A bright-white paper with a soft velvet texture and moderate tooth. It gives reproductions a traditional printmaking surface without the stronger relief of a coarse watercolour paper.

Canson® Infinity Edition Etching Rag (310gsm): A 100% cotton paper with a fine grain inspired by traditional etching papers. Its matte surface suits detailed fine-art reproductions and editions.

Hahnemühle® Museum Etching: A heavyweight cotton paper with a natural-white tone and a pronounced but controlled texture. It is suited to work that benefits from visible paper character.

Hahnemühle German Etching® (310gsm): A heavyweight mould-made paper with a velvety felt texture and warm-white tone. The surface is more pronounced than a hot-press sheet.

Hahnemühle® William Turner (310gsm): A mould-made cotton paper with a distinct watercolour texture and natural-white tone. It works well for reproductions where the substrate should remain visibly present.

Hahnemühle Torchon (285gsm): A bright-white cellulose paper with a coarse, parchment-like texture. It produces the strongest surface character among the listed watercolour papers.

Printing and Finishing

Print Method: Pigment inkjet printing with paper-specific output settings and colour management.

Protective Finish: Prints receive Hahnemühle Protective Spray to add resistance to fingerprints, scuffing, ultraviolet exposure and incidental moisture. The coating does not make the paper waterproof.

Borders: Include any white border inside the supplied artwork and select the overall finished size, including the border.

Surface and Colour: Texture changes perceived sharpness and tonal contrast. For fine detail choose a smoother sheet; for visible paper character choose a cold-press, etching or torchon surface.
