Natural Smooth Paper Specifications
Surface: Smooth, uncoated premium paper with a low-reflectance matte surface and a clean, natural paper character.
Stock Construction: Available in 16pt, 28pt and 34pt finished thicknesses. The 16pt stock provides a conventional professional card profile, while the 28pt and 34pt constructions offer increased rigidity, edge depth and physical presence without lamination.
Print Characteristics: Because the stock is uncoated, ink interacts directly with the paper fibres rather than remaining primarily on a coated surface. This produces softer tonal transitions, lower apparent contrast and a more natural reproduction characteristic than coated or laminated stocks.
Surface Behaviour: The uncoated surface retains the tactile qualities of the paper and remains free of film lamination. Fine typography, line work, restrained colour palettes and editorial-style layouts reproduce particularly well. Large solid areas may exhibit the natural surface character of the substrate rather than the highly uniform appearance associated with coated papers.
Finishing: 0.25" diameter round corners are available on the 16pt configuration. The 28pt and 34pt stocks are supplied with square corners unless otherwise specified.
Colour Behaviour: Uncoated stock absorbs ink more readily than coated media, which generally reduces apparent saturation and increases tonal softness. Dark colours may reproduce less intensely, while subtle neutral and pastel tones can be influenced by the natural colour of the paper. Colour-critical work should be evaluated using an appropriate physical proof where required.
Prepress & Production Standards
Printing: Full-colour, double-sided production directly onto premium uncoated stock from supplied press-ready artwork.
Artwork: Files should be prepared at final trim size with appropriate bleed, safe margins, embedded or outlined fonts and production-quality image resolution. Fine rules, small reversed type and elements positioned close to the trim edge should be designed with normal commercial print tolerances in mind.
Colour: Artwork should be supplied using an appropriate CMYK workflow. RGB images, spot colours and brand-critical colours may require conversion or production review before output. Because the substrate is uncoated, printed colour should not be expected to match the appearance of the same artwork on coated or laminated stock.
Proofing: Digital PDF proofing is available for checking content, layout, trim position and general prepress accuracy. A PDF proof does not reproduce the final paper colour, ink absorption, surface texture or exact printed density of the finished piece.
Trim & Finishing: Cutting and corner finishing are subject to normal commercial production tolerances. Designs incorporating narrow borders, frames or elements positioned close to the finished edge should include sufficient safety margin for normal converting variation.
Production Time: Typically 4–5 business days after artwork and proof approval. Additional finishing, colour evaluation or production requirements may extend turnaround.
