About this product

Shadow Box Frames hold artwork behind glazing with an internal spacer that creates a visible gap between the print and front surface. The recessed construction gives the work a deeper architectural profile than conventional flat framing.

The spacer keeps the artwork surface from touching the glazing and creates controlled visual depth around the image. The format is suited to fine art and photographic prints where physical separation and a stronger frame presence are preferred.

Each frame is built to the selected size and mounting method. Frame profile, glazing, spacer depth and float or flush mounting affect the finished outside dimensions and should be confirmed before production.

Print and Frame Options

Print Surface: Canson® Infinity Edition Etching Rag (310gsm) is the paper currently offered in the online calculator. Its fine matte texture remains visible within the recessed presentation.

Frame Colour: Choose White Board and Frame or Black Board and Frame in the product calculator.

Online Size Range: The calculator supports inner widths from 12–36 inches and inner lengths from 12–48 inches. Other dimensions or depths require a quote.

Frame Construction

Depth: The extended moulding is approximately 1.5 inches deep, with roughly 1 inch of interior space between the glazing and the back of the frame.

Glazing: UV-resistant glass is used for the standard presentation. Art Glass and non-glare glazing may be quoted separately.

Spacing: Acid-free spacers keep the print separated from the glazing.

Presentation: Float or flush mounting can be confirmed with the studio before production so the correct margins and depth can be prepared.

Hanging: The finished frame includes a sealed back, hanging hardware and wall bumpers.

Care: Apply cleaner to a soft cloth rather than directly to the glazing. Keep liquid away from the frame edges and backing.

File and Production Standards

Accepted Files: PDF, JPG and PNG up to 50 MB through the product form. For files over 50 MB, email a download link to info@blitzprinthouse.com with your order number.

Resolution and Margins: Minimum 150 dpi at the selected inner artwork size. Allow additional paper margin if a floated presentation is requested.

Colour Profiles: Embed the Adobe RGB (1998) colour profile in the supplied file.

Colour Expectations: Glazing and display lighting affect perceived contrast and reflection. Arrange a test strip when colour matching is critical.

Production Time: Typically 10–14 business days before shipping or pickup. Transit time is additional.
