About this product

Silk Business Cards are produced with a low-glare film laminate designed to combine clean colour reproduction with a smooth, controlled surface finish. The laminate reduces the strong specular reflection associated with gloss finishes while retaining considerably more colour density and visual contrast than most uncoated papers. The result is a versatile commercial card suitable for typography, photographic imagery, fine graphic elements and large areas of solid colour.

The standard 18pt configuration provides a balanced combination of rigidity and everyday handling performance, while the 36pt option creates a substantially heavier card with a more pronounced edge profile and physical presence. For applications requiring a softer geometry, 0.25" diameter round corners are available on the 18pt stock.

Silk lamination also provides an additional protective layer over the printed surface, helping reduce routine scuffing and handling marks. Its relatively neutral finish makes it particularly useful when artwork contains both image-based and typographic content and neither an ultra-matte nor high-gloss appearance is desired.

Silk Laminate Specifications

Surface: Low-glare silk laminate with a smooth, semi-matte surface and controlled reflectance.

Stock Construction: Available in 18pt and 36pt finished thicknesses. The 36pt option provides increased rigidity and edge profile for applications requiring greater physical presence.

Print Characteristics: The laminated surface maintains strong colour density while reducing the specular glare associated with high-gloss finishes. Well suited to fine typography, line work, photographic imagery and solid colour fields.

Surface Protection: Film lamination adds a protective layer over the printed sheet, improving resistance to routine handling, abrasion and surface marking.

Finishing: 0.25" diameter round corners are available on the 18pt configuration.

Colour Behaviour: Silk lamination can slightly alter perceived density and contrast compared with the unlaminated press sheet. Critical colour should be evaluated using an appropriate hard proof where required.

Prepress & Production Standards

Printing: Full-colour, double-sided production from supplied press-ready artwork.

Artwork: Supply a press-ready PDF in CMYK at final trim size, with 1/8-inch bleed on all sides and crop marks. Keep important text inside safe margins, embed or outline fonts, and use production-quality image resolution.

Colour: Set print artwork to CMYK before exporting the PDF. Identify any spot colours or colour-critical elements for production review.

Proofing: Digital PDF proofing is available for content, positioning and general prepress verification. A PDF proof should not be considered an exact contract proof for final printed colour.

Trim & Finishing: Final dimensions and finishing tolerances are subject to normal commercial print production variation. Critical borders, rules and live elements should be positioned with adequate safety margins.

Production Time: Typically 4–5 business days after artwork and proof approval. Additional finishing or production requirements may extend turnaround.
